What Goes Into Our Lip Gloss (And What Never Will)

Our philosophy is simple: you and your mini deserve better than microplastics and synthetic chemicals.

Because lip products don’t just sit on your lips—they inevitably get ingested. That’s why we made a very intentional decision from the beginning: our products are made with all-natural, food-grade ingredients.

We believe that if something is going to live on your lips all day, it should meet a higher standard of safety and transparency.

Here’s what that means in practice.

Organic Food-Grade Oils

We only use organic, food-grade oils and their safe derivatives such as coconut oil and castor oil. These oils are widely used in food and are known for their nourishing properties. We make sure they are not processed or extracted using petrochemicals like hexane and are non GMO. 

If an oil isn’t food-grade, we simply don’t use it. For example, while some cosmetic brands use oils like jojoba oil, it is not considered food-grade, so it doesn’t meet our internal standards.

We also intentionally avoid oils such as sunflower oil and palm oil, staying mindful of both ingredient integrity and environmental impact.

Organic Food-Grade Butters

Our formulations include organic mango butter and cocoa butter, selected for their rich texture and moisturizing benefits.

Ethical sourcing matters just as much as quality. If an ingredient is not ethically farmed and responsibly sourced, it doesn’t make its way into our products.

Essential Supporting Ingredients

To support stability, nourishment, and color, we use:

• Organic Vitamin E oil

• Food-grade vegetable dyes

• Edible, plant-derived waxes

Every ingredient is chosen with care to ensure it aligns with our mission of creating clean, transparent, and safe lip products.

No Greenwashing. No Loopholes.

One of the biggest challenges in the beauty industry is greenwashing—ingredients that sound clean but hide behind vague labeling.

We refuse to rely on common loophole ingredients like “fragrance” or “flavor.” These umbrella terms can legally conceal dozens of undisclosed chemicals.

Transparency matters to us, so we simply don’t use them.

Truly Edible, Plant-Derived Flavors

Instead, our flavors are the kind you would recognize from foods you already enjoy—similar to those used in flavored coffee, tea, or ice cream.

They are:

• Plant-derived

• Edible

• Free from benzene or formaldehyde contaminants

This allows us to create fun, appealing flavors without compromising safety.

Thoughtful, Simple Sweeteners

When sweetness is needed, we keep it simple and safe. Our sweeteners are limited to:

• Xylitol

• Stevia

Both are plant-derived and widely used in food products.
